Homunga Bay is a remote and scenic beach on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula in the Waikato Region, facing the Pacific Ocean. The bay is framed by steep cliffs and feels largely untouched, with limited access and no development. It is open to ocean swells, although the curved shape of the bay can provide some shelter in certain wind directions. In summer, particularly from January through March, water temperatures generally range between 19 and 22°C.
